Experienced Meeting & Event Planner

We are seeking an experienced Event and Meeting Planner in a very fast paced, energetic and creative environment.  This is a client-facing role with a strong focus on relationship building and attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES and EXPECTATIONS to include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning, developing, and coordinating of all details of assigned meetings and events to include meeting logistics, event design, budget management through on-site event management, and wrap-up.
  • Manage timelines and anticipate deadlines while enhancing the client’s experience and outcomes.
  • Build relationships with hotel and/or meeting/event site and any other organizations where the partnership will further the objectives of the company and ensure the event’s success.
  • Development of detailed documents and strategies for completing site selection to include development of site grids, site selection, hotel selection, and contract review and negotiations.
  • Assist with copywriting, proofreading, and editing for printed materials as needed.
  • Provide support to other members of the Meetings and Events team.
  • Develop and support registration process to include building registration websites, correspondence with attendees, coordinating with hotel on rooming needs, creating all appropriate reports, reconciliation of registration charges and keeping records of all email confirmation, questions, and resolutions to issues.
  • Overall record keeping for each meeting/event to include internal and external reports detailing all aspects of the event; careful attention to detail.
  • Assist with retention of clients and proactively planning for future meetings and events.
  • Work with Accounting Department to review and approve all transactions related to event.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new ways of thinking in the meeting and event planning industry.
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel and Word proficiency required)
  • Travel approximately 30-40% of the year.  Travel (ranging from 2-14 days at a time) as required by demands and scheduling of events and programs.
  • This position has an opportunity for the right candidate to work remotely if he/she is not based in the Kansas City area.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Professional experience of 5-7 years in industry directly related to meetings and events.
